1 – A Salute to Summer FREE Concert and Fireworks Show (Saturday – 5pm)

Naval Station Newport has announced a “Salute to Summer”,  featuring a Free Concert & Fireworks Show Saturday, August 29th on Dewey Field. The event is open to the Public.

WaterFire Providence is an independent, non-profit arts organization whose mission is to inspire Providence and its visitors by revitalizing the urban experience, fostering community engagement and creatively transforming the city by presenting WaterFire for all to enjoy.

4 – Pawtucket Arts Festival (all weekend – see schedule)

The Pawtucket Arts Festival celebrates creative and cultural life in the City of Pawtucket,Rhode Island, by presenting vibrant arts events during the month of September for resident audiences and for visitors to the City and the Blackstone River Valley. Newport Polo, host of the Newport International Polo Series XXIV, is the home of the Westchester Polo Club, America’s first polo club, est. in 1876, and founding member of the United States Polo Association, offering public exhibition matches and polo club member services for grass & arena polo, and polo instruction year-round.

The Newport Independant Music Festival welcomes The Bob Kendall Band and Zanricky – Bring a blanket and enjoy a Sunday afternoon concert at the King Park Gazebo.

Billie Jean King toured the new museum at the International Tennis Hall of Fame today.

10 – Music on the Bricks: Free concert at Brick Market Place (Saturday  1pm – 5pm)

11 – Newport Stamp Act Reenactment (Saturday  1pm – 4:30pm)

Newport, Rhode Island’s rich colonial history comes to life during the Newport Historical Society’s Stamp Act Protest. This large-scale reenactment takes place in downtown Newport to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Stamp Act Riots, one of the first events that sparked the American Revolution.

12-  NYYC Grandmasters Team Race Regatta (all weekend)

Eight yacht club teams will compete in the 2015 NYYC Grandmasters Team Race Regatta in Sonars with 3 or 4 sailors per boat. Skippers must be at least 55 years of age and shall not have skippered in either the 2015 Morgan Cup or 2015 Hinman Masters. Each crew member must be at least 45 years of age.
