A new haven for the next generation of work opens in Rhode Island

The Coggeshall Club is Rhode Island’s first coworking space with childcare, as well as the state’s first coworking space with fitness equipment and wellness programs, combined – it is a haven for the successful future of working families.

Opening to members on August 12th, the pilot location is located at 82 Valley Road, Middletown, Rhode Island and has begun touring potential members. In a few short days of showing families the club, it has reserved close to 50% of its available memberships.

The growth of coworking spaces continues nationally and throughout the state, most recently with the launch of Innovate Newport, designed to support innovation, collaboration and community. Large coworking spaces such as WeWork cater to those in large cities and urban areas. The Coggeshall Club, however, is paving the way with a new coworking concept, designed for the suburban family. A monthly membership provides parents with the opportunity to work on the same property as their children (ages 0-4 years old) who will be under the care of licensed child care professionals for anywhere from three to eight hours per day (depending on individual family needs and preferences). The club provides parents with amenities including shared and private work spaces, office supplies, highspeed, secure Wi-Fi, unlimited coffee, tea and snacks and, importantly, access to their fitness suite which features Peloton® spin bikes, treadmills, rowing machines, free weights, and showers.

The child development program is guided by a nurturing, play-based philosophy and strives to provide children with the confidence and support they need to be successful as they grow up. Designated rooms for different ages will provide educational toys and experiences to support imaginative play, story time, creative movement and use of the outdoor, natural playground. Mothers can nurse on-demand throughout the day in the nursery. Family events will take place throughout the year, including movie nights, food truck Saturdays (once per month), weekend beach days, and even snowman-making contests in the winter.

Additional support and benefits for parents are bundled into the membership, including, but not limited to, counseling, professional mentoring/coaching, lactation support, in-office spa services, and monthly pop-up events and seminars. A designated pumping area with a private refrigerator and comfortable seating will also be available. Various levels of discounts and other offers will be presented from local partners such as pilates, barre, spas, salons, outdoors sports, and clothing. Food trucks will be offered as available for lunch, as well as grab and go-dinner. Relieving many of the stress points families with young children face in their day to day lives.

“It’s a dream come true,” says Portsmouth native, Brittany Riley, co-founder of the Coggeshall Club and mother of two. “We are taking a 360-degree view toward the future of work, one family member at a time,” she continues.

“Employers can now provide this benefit to their employees who start a family as a preventive measure to keep them from quitting while eliminating the stress of finding childcare they can trust and be a part of, all while working remotely during these transitional years.”

Customizable memberships start at $379/month with childcare and $249/month for workspace and fitness, which includes access to the coworking and fitness facilities. Club hours are Monday through Friday from 7am-7:00pm and one Saturday per month per month 8am – 4pm. For more information and to schedule a tour, visit www.coggeshallclub.com.
