America’s Cup Races Newport Rhode Island
After an incredibly hot and humid stretch the last few days, Newport Rhode Island was socked with quite the storm front. Torrential down pour and heavy winds greeted us in the morning for the Team Oracle press conference led by Skipper Jimmy Spithill – the youngest winning skipper in America’s Cup history and current leader of the ACWS 2011-’12 Season Championship. However the weather broke by 3pm and a few of the syndicates including the Italian racing team Prada made it out on Narragansett Bay for some up wind practice racing to get used to the customary three knot current that rips through the channel.
