Bruce Chandler has been diagnosed with a Stage III Oral Malignant Neoplasm and is now making the daily trip from Newport to Dana-Farber in Boston for chemo and radiation.
Bruce is a registered nurse and in the field of healing, he deals with similar struggles daily in his efforts to comfort others.
Bruce has a very active and adventurous lifestyle. An outdoorsman with the spirit that has allowed him a life of sailing, mountain climbing, fine carpentry, not to mention the constant fun of his two dogs Ollie and Omar. But it is his faith and positive attitude that is so needed to beat such a serious illness. Bruce will need to remain strong and that’s where you can help. Bruce is rising to the challenge but it will be a long process and even longer recovery.
This serious diagnosis has given Bruce an outlook on life that through this journey has allowed him to look beyond the daily treatment and through to a bright and busy future and to return to his life of adventure, caregiving and creativity.
