If this was a satirical version or parody, fine, but I think he is serious. this song sucks balls and is a slap in the face to the BB.
You ‘think’ it was a slap eh? Well, I KNOW that the remaining Beastie Boys and his family are in pain. Their quote on the tribute, “MCA lived and loved music … all of it … as much as he could get cram into his wack head” and then they said “do I think he would like that track … yeah, my boy? he absolutely would’ve made some crack ’bout it … then you’d see him rip a copy and find him listening to it (on repeat all smiles n tears) an hour later … an’ we did the same damn thing – so yeah, I think he’s listening to it right now … wherever he is now, he’s STILL listening …”
The Beastie Boys quote on the tribute, “MCA lived and loved music period. As much as he could get cram into his wack head” and “do I think he woulda liked it … yeah, my boy? he would’ve made some joke then you’d find him listening to it (all smiles n tears) an hour later … an’ we did the same damn thing – so yeah, I think he’s listening to it right now … wherever he is now, he’s STILL listening …”
@ concerned fan Ha – I got u but listen man. That version ain’t meant to or gonna be REPLACING the way that track was cut by the Beasties, right? All I think ColdPlay sayin is this: The Beasties? When everybody first saw ‘em they were like: Rap/Metal? But by the end, the joke was on us … because the Beasties kept putting out tunes that broke all the rules, except rule #1. Make great music.
