Facebook Co-Founder Andrew McCollum marries Gretchen Sisson at The Chanler

This past weekend The Chanler played host to a wedding featuring newly minted Silicon Valley Royalty. Facebook cofounder Andrew McCollum married Gretchen Sisson in a dorkishly lavish ceremony at The Chanler on Saturday, June 9th. The wedding included a program featuring XML languageCoffeeScript and a crossword puzzle. ”Wuv, two wuv,” a quote from The Princess Bride kicked off the ceremony.

On their wedding website, the bride and groom asked for donations to non-profits in favor of gifts. “Your options are abortion, gay marriage, and teen parents. If you’re a Republican, we have a registry on Amazon.com.”

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg was listed as a groomsman in the program but wasn’t in attendance, instead he was celebrating his honeymoon in Italy.

The couple treated their guests to ‘Welcome to Newport Clambake‘ on Friday evening on Rose Island.

Newport, RI once again The Wedding Capital of the World!
