At age 78 Joan Rivers has more energy than most people 1/3 her age and that legendary energy was on full display last Saturday night in Newport. Playing to a packed house at The Newport Yachting Center, the Hollywood legend, with a career spanning 50 years, had the crowd in the palm of her hands and hanging on every word. The heat was so stifling under the tent that it was difficult to differentiate the beads of sweat from the tears of laughter from overheating crowd
During her 80 minute set, no one was safe from the entertainment icon. Gays, lesbians, the handicap, dead people, nearly dead people children and more all were targets of her jabs, criticisms and acerbic wit. She even slipped in a joke about JFK, “Show of hands, how many women here slept with him. You all did!”
And she probably did too!
