Joseph R. Paolino Sr. dies at 83

Joseph R. Paolino Sr., 83, a legendary businessman, entrepreneur and real estate developer in the State of RI has passed away after an illness. The patriarch of his family and truly a great man, Joe was the father of  Donna Paolino and Joseph R. Paolino Jr., the former Mayor of Providence and U.S. Ambassador to Malta.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Church of St. Sebastian, 67 Cole Ave., Providence. Burial will be private. Arrangements are being handled by the Gattone-Woodlawn Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston.

On a personal note – Joe was by far the best landlord I ever had and true friend and mentor during my political career. I consider myself lucky to have known him. He will be greatly missed.
