Governor Chafee Legalizes Marijuana in RI: Record sales of Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon expected!

In a stunning departuture from the idiocy that typically flows from the Rhode Island State House, comes this news: Governor Lincoln Chafee has signed into law a bill to decriminalize the possession of an ounce or less of marijuana!!!!

No longer will adults be treated like criminals for possession of a drug FAR less harmful than alcohol!!! Well they’ll still face a civil fine of $150 but no criminal record will ruin their lives! The cops will also “confiscate” their weed. And by “confiscate” we mean “hold on to until they decide to smoke it themselves.” But come on…an ounce of good pot costs far more than that, so it’s basically a win win!

Smoke ‘em if you’ve got ‘em Rhode Island….and thank you Governor Chafee!!!

(One more thing…Linc, please veto all of the spending, tax and toll increases!)

Ed Note: This new law takes effect April 1, 2013.
