Newport Charter Yacht Show: June 21st – June 24th

Genoa, Antigua, Greece, Antibes. These are a few of the intriguing overseas destinations that host trade-only charter yacht shows throughout the year. In the U.S., the one and only event devoted solely to showcasing charter-industry opportunities is held in Newport, R.I. – indisputably one of the world’s most beautiful ports – and it goes by the name Newport Charter Yacht Show presented by Helly Hansen. Scheduled for Tuesday, June 21 through Friday, June 24, the Newport Charter Yacht Show has been around for 35 years, and this year it features 30 luxury charter yachts that have traveled to New England from around the globe. They will be docked at a new venue, Newport Shipyard, which now owns the show and regularly hosts an eclectic assortment of racing and cruising yachts as well as an array of special events at its 10-acre facility on Newport Harbor.

“Newport Charter Yacht Show presented by Helly Hansen provides a platform for brokers and their clients to familiarize themselves with the charter yachts and their captains and crews that work the East Coast during the popular cruising months of June through September,” said Newport Shipyard General Manager Eli Dana. “At the same time, the four-day event allows builders and companies providing luxury products and yachting services to the industry to showcase their products.”

Thirty yachts are currently registered for the event. The participating yachts include 13 luxury sailing vessels, ranging from 53 to 123 feet, and nine motor vessels that each measure in at over 100 feet. The two largest motor vessels are the 161-foot (49m) superyacht Zoom Zoom Zoom, offered by the brokerage firm of Northrop & Johnson, and the 160-foot (48.7m) Clarity, offered by IYC.
