We all have heard about the health benefits of wine, but it turns out beer has benefits too. According to a CNN report by Kari Glassman, beer contains the same amount of antioxidants as wine and light beers can have fewer calories than wine. Even better, beer contains more protein and vitamin B than wine. Even if alcohol eliminates the benefits of said vitamins, let’s focus on the glass being half-full (of beer). And remember, moderation is the best approach to all of life’s indulgences.

Chef Barry Correia of One Bellevue at Hotel Viking thinks of beer as a beverage and an ingredient. “Beer is a great replacement for water especially with marinades and even broth when making soups” said Chef Correia, “Since the alcohol cooks off, recipes with beer are all about the aromas and flavors.”

To celebrate the relationship of beer and food, Hotel Viking is offering a special 9-Week Beer Dinner series. Starting on March 9, every Wednesday until May 4, will feature a special menu paired with a craft beer.

The dinners start at 6pm, offer 3-courses (and beer!), and are $39 per person, plus taxes and gratuity.
