Photos – Newport Folk Festival

Once again the Newport Folk Festival was a huge hit here in Newport, RI.  Elvis Costello, The Decemberists, Gogol Bordello, Emmy Lou Harris, Pete Seeger and a host of others entertained the sold out two-day crowd at Fort Adams.  While the Fort was rocking the real party and the best location to watch the festival was out on the water just off the tip of the fort.  Hundreds of boats, rafts, floats, paddle boards, inner tubes and kayakers partied all day long.  Inside Fort Adams alcohol was limited and had to be consumed in a tent on the outskirts of the venue but out on the water it was a totally different scene with thousands partying, grilling, eating and drinking.  Without a doubt the best way to watch the Folk or Jazz festival is from the water.
