Newport Teen Teddy Oliviera Found Dead in Newport Harbor

Search for Missing Teen Teddy Oliviera Ends In Heartbreak.

NEWPORT, RI -

After an extensive search, rescue and recovery operation conducted by the U.S. Coast Guard Station Castle Hill, the Newport Fire Department, the Newport Police Department, Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod, the Narragansett Marine Task Force and aid from Middletown, Portsmouth, Jamestown and Warwick rescue personnel, authorities have recovered the body of missing Newport teen Teddy Oliviera.

Mr. Oliviera’s body was recovered this morning around 11:45am near the Newport Bridge.

Newport Police are investigating the death of the 17 year old Rogers High School senior. Mr. Oliviera was last seen by friends late last Monday night on an inflatable dinghy near King’s Park. Teddy was reported missing by family last Tuesday evening.

A dinghy containing Teddy Oliviera‘s backpack was recovered late last week on Coaster’s Harbor Island just north of the Newport Bridge.
