Preservation Society Book Club: The Uncensored Picture of Dorian Grey

You may think you have read Oscar Wilde’s “The Picture of Dorian Gray” but chances are you did not read the original, uncensored version as Wilde wrote it – because this material was never published in the printed book. Join fellow book lovers and Wilde expert Dr. Nicholas Frankel, editor of the recently released version, to examine the differences between the two editions on Saturday, April 14 from 10:30 AM – 12 PM at the Isaac Belle House, 70 Perry Street, Newport.

Nicholas Frankel, Professor of English at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond VA, is the author and editor of many books about Oscar Wilde. He is the recipient of grants, awards and fellowships from the National Humanities Center, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Yale Center for British Art, the Society for Textual Scholarship, and the Bibliographical Society of America.
