You may think you have read Oscar Wilde’s “The Picture of Dorian Gray” but chances are you did not read the original, uncensored version as Wilde wrote it – because this material was never published in the printed book. Join fellow book lovers and Wilde expert Dr. Nicholas Frankel, editor of the recently released version, to examine the differences between the two editions on Saturday, April 14 from 10:30 AM – 12 PM at the Isaac Belle House, 70 Perry Street, Newport.

The book is available through the Newport Mansions Stores and online at

Space limited. Advance ticket purchase is required. Preservation Society Members $10 / General Public $15. Purchase tickets, or call 401-847-1000 ext. 178.

Nicholas Frankel, Professor of English at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond VA, is the author and editor of many books about Oscar Wilde.
