Volvo Ocean Race Leg 7 – Newport to Lisbon – Final Results

Leg 7 from Newport, RI to Lisbon, Portugal is in the books. After a quick nine and a half days at sea, the Volvo Ocean Race boats have all completed a successful crossing of the Atlantic Ocean.

3. Alvimedica (from Newport, RI)
4. Dongfeng
5. Abu Dhabi
6. Team SCA

Congrats to Team Alvimedica on a strong third place finish. With 4 hours to go to the Leg 7 finish, Team Alvimedica was 18 nautical miles behind and in 5th place. They succeeded in coming back to secure third and the final podium position only 5 minutes before crossing the finish line. (Alvimedica finished 55 seconds ahead of Dongfeng)
