Lights, camera, Rhode Island!
Hollywood heavyweights Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio are joining forces once again—but this time they’re teaming up with Rhode Island’s own Chad A. Verdi to produce the explosive new action thriller Carthage Must Be Destroyed.
The film, set to roll cameras this October in the Ocean State, will be directed by Ocean’s Eleven screenwriter Ted Griffin. The story centers on a mysterious stranger who arrives in a crumbling rust-belt city controlled by a ruthless criminal underworld. But don’t expect him to play nice—this antihero uses brains and brawn to unleash chaos, unravel corruption, and take down the power players from within.
Scorsese and DiCaprio are signed on as executive producers, lending serious star power to the project, while Verdi Productions and Ketchup Entertainment will bankroll the film.
“This is a dynamic project,” said Verdi, president of Verdi Productions. “It’s a pleasure to be collaborating with Marty, Leo, and our incredible producing team to bring Ted’s outstanding screenplay to the big screen. This film is going to reach new heights.”
Casting is currently underway, and with a fall shoot locked in Rhode Island, Carthage Must Be Destroyed is shaping up to be one of the state’s buzziest film productions in years.
