According to The Boston Globe‘s Michael Silverman, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is becoming a part owner of the Boston Red Sox along with his business partner, Maverick Carter. They’re joining the Fenway Sports Group as partners and are the first and only black partners in FSG history.
The deal requires MLB approval which should take a couple of weeks. Reports indicate that there will be no changes to John Henry’s status as principal owner and majority shareholder.
