Shaquille O’Neal to host Midnight Madness to kick off PC’s basketball season

Shaquille O’Neal (aka DJ Diesel ) will host and perform at the Providence College Late Night Madness festivities on Saturday, October 15 in Mullaney Gymnasium on the Providence College campus. The Friar men’s and women’s basketball teams will open the season with the traditional Late Night Madness event beginning at 7:00 p.m.

O’Neal, who was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame earlier in the month, will co-emcee the event as well as host a concert, in which he will DJ, later in the evening. O’Neal played in 1,207 games over 19 seasons in the NBA. He also averaged 23.7 ppg and 10.9 rpg during his NBA career. O’Neal has been involved in music for the last 20 years and more recently has served as a DJ at a number of worldwide events.
