At 150 Boston Neck Road, Broadmoor offers one of t At 150 Boston Neck Road, Broadmoor offers one of the most compelling preservation stories on the Rhode Island coast. Originally built circa 1896, the iconic shingle-style estate was carefully relocated in 2022, lifted onto steel beams and moved nearly 1,000 feet down the road in a remarkable effort to save it from demolition.

What followed was a full-scale transformation. Now set on a new foundation with entirely updated systems, the nearly 6,000-square-foot home blends historic character with the ease of modern construction. State-of-the-art HVAC, a high-efficiency furnace, and five-zone heating and cooling bring a level of comfort rarely found in a home of this era.

Inside, original wood floors and a grand central staircase anchor three light-filled levels. The residence includes six bedrooms, five full baths, and three half baths, with four ensuite bedrooms designed for hosting. A dramatic chef’s kitchen features a six-burner double-oven range, dual Sub-Zero refrigerators, three sinks, two dishwashers, and an oversized island, complemented by multiple living and entertaining spaces throughout.

Ocean views from nearly every room on the upper floors, along with a screened-in patio, second-floor deck, and bluestone fire pit patio, create a seamless connection to the coastal setting. Located directly across from the Dunes Club and just steps to Narragansett Town Beach, Broadmoor captures the best of the Pier lifestyle.

A rare offering that honors the past while living entirely in the present.

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. — A new school-zone speed camera MIDDLETOWN, R.I. — A new school-zone speed camera program in Middletown has resulted in more than 6,500 citations in just over two months, highlighting widespread speeding in areas where children and families are present.

Police say 6,540 citations have been issued since enforcement began Jan. 6 along Forest Avenue, Turner Road and Purgatory Road.

The numbers follow an extended warning period that far exceeded state requirements. From Oct. 27, 2025, through Jan. 5, 2026, the department issued 7,137 warning notices, giving drivers more than 70 days to adjust their behavior.

Despite that window, violations surged once tickets began. Police issued 3,213 citations between Jan. 6 and Jan. 30 alone.

The data shows the average speed was 33 mph, well above the posted 20 mph school-zone limit. Citations are only triggered when a vehicle is traveling at least 11 mph over the limit.

“The volume of citations issued in these school zones clearly reflects the necessity of the system to effectively deter speeding and improve driver behavior,” said Middletown Police Major Clifford A. McGregor, deputy chief of police.

Each citation is reviewed and approved by a trained officer before being issued. Drivers can either pay the fine or contest the ticket in Municipal Court.

Purgatory Road has generated the highest number of violations among the three locations.

Police said signage at each site meets the minimum requirements under Rhode Island law, and that flashing lights or speed feedback signs are not required for citations to be valid.

Officials say the early results point to both the scale of the problem — and the goal of the program: slowing drivers down where it matters most.

Chuck Norris, the roundhouse-kicking legend who st Chuck Norris, the roundhouse-kicking legend who stared down bad guys — and won — as the star of Walker, Texas Ranger, has died. He was 86.

The action icon died suddenly Thursday morning, his family announced Friday, saying he was surrounded by loved ones and “at peace.”

“To the world, he was a martial artist, actor, and a symbol of strength,” the family said. “To us, he was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and the heart of our family.”

The famously tough-as-nails Norris — who turned martial arts into a global brand and later became a pop culture punchline thanks to viral “Chuck Norris facts” — had reportedly been hospitalized a day earlier after a medical emergency in Kauai, Hawaii.

Just days before his death, he was still throwing kicks, posting a birthday video on March 10 showing him practicing martial arts at 86.

“I’m grateful for another year, good health and the chance to keep doing what I love,” he wrote.

Norris rose to fame in the 1970s and ’80s as an action star before cementing his legacy on TV as the no-nonsense Texas Ranger Cordell Walker.

Off-screen, he built a reputation for discipline, faith and quiet toughness — and a fan base that treated him like more myth than man.

His family has asked for privacy as they mourn.

Then again, Chuck Norris didn’t really lose his life — life just finally stopped trying to keep up.
