An ambulance traveling from Warner Street to Bayvi An ambulance traveling from Warner Street to Bayview became stuck in heavy snow Wednesday morning, highlighting the lingering impact of the historic blizzard on neighborhood roads.

According to witnesses, the ambulance lost traction as it attempted to navigate the snow-covered stretch and became immobilized on Bayview. A city plow was dispatched to clear a path and free the vehicle, but the plow also became stuck in the deep snow.

Crews then brought in a backhoe, which ultimately towed the ambulance out. The plow was also freed.

There was no immediate information available about the patient inside the ambulance. The incident comes as public works crews continue working to clear side streets across the city following the storm.

A 33,227 sq. ft. waterfront parcel with two moorings and potential for a dock, available only in conjunction with either 39 or 41 Walcott Avenue—allowing for the creation of a unified compound or legacy estate.

In Newport’s Fifth Ward, the snowstorm left behind In Newport’s Fifth Ward, the snowstorm left behind more than towering drifts and buried cars — it left behind a reminder of why people love this neighborhood.

As residents bundled up and headed outside with shovels in hand, two neighbors decided to take care of something before it even needed to be asked. They cleared the walkway of an elderly gentleman on their block, cutting a clean path through the heavy snow before he had the chance to step outside and face it himself.

When he finally opened the door and saw what they’d done, his reaction was priceless — a mix of surprise, relief and genuine gratitude. It was the kind of moment that doesn’t need much explanation. You could see it on his face.

Newport may be known for its mansions and ocean views, but after a storm like this, it’s the small, human moments that stand out most.

In the Fifth Ward, it’s simple: when the snow piles up, so does the kindness.
