Frankie Silvia took to Facebook last week, issuing Frankie Silvia took to Facebook last week, issuing an invitation for back-to-back events at The @landingnewport and The @lobsterbarnewport. On Thursday, radio personalities from The Greg Hill Show descended on The Landing for a meet and greet. Patrick Kilroy also extended a heartfelt offer to support the employees of @matunuckoysterbar. For every Miller Lite sold, he donated $10 to aid his fellow hospitality workers affected by the devastating fire that closed the popular seaside restaurant on May 20.

Kate DeCosta praised P.K. for supporting hospitality workers. “People have kids, car payments, and mortgages,” DeCosta said. “If I didn’t have my next paycheck, I’d be in trouble. We need to do what we can.”

Lee Caouette said he was thinking of the 300 employees who lost their jobs at Matunuck Oyster Bar and recalled how the restaurant’s owner, Perry Raso, started as a fisherman and built a thriving business.

By 7 a.m. Friday morning, there wasn’t an empty seat in The Lobster Bar as Greg Hill, Jermaine Wiggins, Courtney Cox, and Chris Curtis went live on air. One fan even flew in from Chicago, while locals like Sid Abruzzi, Tim Smith, Melissa Turner, and Steve Taylor showed up in support.

The Greg Hill Show team stayed at OceanCliff the night before and raved about the hospitality they received. Courtney Cox said she was especially touched to find gifts from CK Bradley and Farmaesthetics in her room.

Mayor Charlie Holder presented a key to the City of Newport to Wiggins, who was visibly moved and declared, “We’re partying now—I’m bringing the boys from the city down. I feel like a Rhode Islander now.”

Mayor Holder also delivered an official proclamation declaring May 30 “The Greg Hill Show Day” in the City of Newport and thanked Hill and his team for their charitable efforts through The Greg Hill Foundation. He also thanked Frankie Silvia and Patrick Kilroy for rallying around Matunuck Oyster Bar and presented his own donation. “This is what we do—we help one another out in the hospitality industry,” the mayor affirmed.

We stopped in for a casual Wednesday bite and acci We stopped in for a casual Wednesday bite and accidentally ordered half the menu. Oops.

@nikolaspizza has a whole new look—soft Mediterranean blues, flickering candlelight, and just enough mood to pretend you’re seaside somewhere along the Aegean Coast. We walked in craving dinner and walked out wondering why we don’t own more linen.

It’s sleek. It’s romantic. It’s quietly confident. Family-dinner approved.

And the food? The pasta’s proper, the pizza’s hot, and the meatballs are so tender they barely hold it together. Just like us.

Also—whispers—they’ve brought back the half-price menu. Yes, really. Meatballs for $7. Mussels simmered in olive oil, garlic, and white wine for $6. Chicken Parm for $11.50. Zeppoles for the price of a parking meter. No gatekeeping here. It’s available Mon–Wed, 4–10pm.

New vibe. Same neighborhood gem. While owners Chris and Teresa Young are always in the mix—usually within arm’s reach of a pizza peel—their daughter Nicole has officially taken the reins. She’s the force behind the restaurant’s fresh energy and their new slogan: HOT FRESH GREEK, which you can now spot on the backs of staff shirts—and better yet, buy one and rep it yourself. Fashion meets marinara.

Bring your appetite and someone you like enough to share with (or don’t).

Call it a favor. Start with the Prosciutto Fig Pizza.

It’s unacceptable to see the mess left behind by It’s unacceptable to see the mess left behind by late-night partiers at Sachuest Beach. These are some of the most beautiful beaches on the planet, and they deserve far better than to be trashed by such classless behavior.

Here’s a simple rule: if you’re old enough to party, you’re old enough to clean up after yourself. Respect our community—or stay home.
