There’s no better place to flirt with floral fan There’s no better place to flirt with floral fantasy than Rosecliff, the Beaux-Arts masterpiece that will once again blossom into a botanical wonderland for the 29th annual Newport Flower Show, June 20–22. Lovers of lilacs, lilies, and lavish settings can secure their spot at what has become one of the country’s most storied horticultural spectacles.

Presented by the @newport.namsions, the show transforms the iconic Bellevue Avenue mansion into a dazzling blend of high society and high floriculture. This year’s theme, A Floral Fair, is a nostalgic nod to Rosecliff’s original hostess, silver heiress Theresa Fair Oelrichs, whose 1913 fairy tale dinner once turned the estate into a real-life storybook. Think Gilded Age glam meets whimsical county fair—carousel horses, teddy bears, a floral roller coaster, and prize blooms all make appearances in what can only be described as Versailles meets Coney Island.

The centerpiece? A sculptural garden installation by British artist David Harber, staged oceanside on Rosecliff’s great lawn and inspired by the dreamy White City of the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair. Inside and out, florists, designers, and botanical artists will compete and collaborate to reimagine the mansion through a floral lens.

The three-day event also features a curated marketplace with 40+ vendors, selling everything from heirloom garden tools to luxuriously scented cuttings.

Tickets are timed and must be purchased in advance. Tickets for the exclusive Opening Night Party on June 20 — complete with cocktails, canapés, and live music under the stars — are sold out.

Tucked along a private oceanfront laneway, 19 Tayl Tucked along a private oceanfront laneway, 19 Taylor’s Lane S is the very definition of classic New England charm—refined, relaxed, and perfectly in tune with its natural surroundings. Set on 1.4 acres with sweeping water views and direct shoreline access, this beautifully renovated shingle-style home is everything you would hope it to be!

Offering 3,200 square feet of casually elegant living space, the property includes a main house with 4 bedrooms and 4 full baths, along with a separate, sun-filled one-bedroom/one-bath guest cottage. A light-filled living room anchors the home with a wall of windows that frame west-facing views—sunsets here are nothing short of magical. The adjacent oceanside dining room, with its decorative painted floors, flows effortlessly from the updated gourmet kitchen, creating the perfect setting for summer dinners.

Two first-floor bedrooms, two full baths, and a cozy library with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves round out the main level, offering quiet corners for reading and rest. Upstairs, the dreamy primary suite feels straight out of Coastal Living—with soaring ceilings, a spa-worthy bathroom, a soaking tub, and a generous stone shower.

Just steps from the main house, the guest cottage offers bright, breezy privacy for visitors. With its own open-concept kitchen and living area, it’s as inviting as it is charming.

The property itself is a masterclass in coastal landscape design. Colorful flower gardens, raised vegetable beds, an orchard, and signature stone walls add both beauty and function to the grounds. Along the shoreline, a protective seawall and stone steps lead directly to the rocky beach—perfect for swimming, kayaking, fishing, or simply sitting by the water’s edge as the sun slips below the horizon.

Every inch of this beloved property has been thoughtfully cared for, offering a rare chance to own a true Little Compton gem in one of Rhode Island’s most picturesque settings.

The countdown to one of the world’s most iconic The countdown to one of the world’s most iconic ocean races begins this week as the Bermuda Race Organizing Committee opens entries for the 2026 Newport Bermuda Race on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. EDT—exactly one year ahead of its start.

The 2026 edition will mark 120 years since the race’s founding in 1906 and commemorate a century of partnership between the Cruising Club of America and the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club, co-organizers of the historic 636-nautical-mile race.

“The Newport Bermuda Race is not only a test of seamanship and preparation—it’s a celebration of what makes offshore sailing so meaningful,” said returning Race Chair Andrew Kallfelz. “2026 will honor the race’s extraordinary history while engaging sailors and fans across the globe.”

Building on the success of the 2024 starting location, the race will once again begin off Fort Adams State Park in Newport, transforming the launch into the “Newport Bermuda Race Starting Line Festival.” The 2024 event welcomed more than 4,000 spectators with food trucks, music, exhibits, and family activities, and drew over 25,000 online viewers. Organizers expect even larger crowds in 2026.

Interest is already high on both sides of the Atlantic. Mallorca-based Swan 56 Azaha has confirmed participation, while 2024 runner-up Hound is preparing for a rematch after a close finish last year.

The race draws a wide range of competitors across divisions, including the St. David’s Lighthouse, Gibbs Hill, Finisterre (cruising), and Open classes.

Sailors can visit bermudarace.com to review the Notice of Race and begin the entry process.
