Rhode Island set new one-day high for positive COVID-19 tests

The Rhode Island Department of Health reported 449 new positive COVID-19 cases on Friday, marking the largest one-day total since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. The new cases bring Rhode Island’s total to over 30,000 positive cases.

The DOH also reported four more deaths, bringing the state’s death toll to 1,177.

There are currently 140 Rhode Islanders hospitalized with COVID-19
