Just two miles from downtown Newport but a world a Just two miles from downtown Newport but a world away in feel, this custom-designed coastal retreat sits on 2.7 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds just off scenic Indian Avenue. If you’ve been searching for serenity without sacrificing convenience, 56 Summerfield Lane might be exactly what you’ve been waiting for.

This light-filled four-bedroom, four-bathroom home was built to embrace its natural surroundings and blur the line between indoors and out. Nearly every room opens to a private deck, patio, or covered porch— with views of the lush grounds or the sparkling gunite saltwater pool.

The main level flows effortlessly from room to room. The kitchen includes a cozy sitting area and leads into the living room with its wood-burning fireplace and adjacent dining spaces—ideal for entertaining or easy everyday living. Sliding doors off the main living room open to a covered porch that overlooks the expansive backyard and pool area.

Upstairs, the primary suite is a peaceful sanctuary with a spacious bath, walk-in closet, and access to a private porch with treetop views. Two additional bedrooms and a full bath complete the second floor.

The walk-out lower level includes a fourth bedroom, full bath, and a fully outfitted gym, plus direct access to the oversized three-car garage.

Set in one of the most desirable areas of Aquidneck Island, you’re just a mile from Third Beach, the Norman Bird Sanctuary, Sweet Berry Farm, and Sachuest Point. It’s rare to find this much privacy and space so close to Newport—and even rarer to find it done so well.

For the first time, @oceanhourfarm will open its g For the first time, @oceanhourfarm will open its gates to the public this summer and fall, offering a firsthand look at how regenerative farming practices can help protect Narragansett Bay and promote environmental health.

Located on a scenic 43-acre property in Newport, the farm will host free, guided two-hour tours that explore its rain gardens, food forest, native meadows, and composting center. Visitors will learn how land stewardship and sustainable agriculture practices can improve ocean health.

“We’re excited to welcome the community to see regenerative farming firsthand and learn how your garden and lawn care choices can benefit Narragansett Bay,” said Sara Wuerstle, farm director at Ocean Hour Farm. “No matter your experience, touring our rain gardens, food forest, meadows, and composting center will inspire you to enhance biodiversity and care for our soil and seas.”

Ocean Hour Farm serves as a hub for education, research, and demonstration of sustainable practices. It emphasizes the relationship between land use and marine ecosystems—showing how soil health, water management, and biodiversity are interconnected.

“Over the past two and a half years, our staff has engaged more than 1,500 adults and youth through on-site programming, and now, we’re excited to open our doors even wider,” said Beth Alaimo, the farm’s education program manager. “There’s nothing better than sharing the methods behind the farm’s magic, and seeing someone realize that environmental solutions can create abundance.”

Tours are limited to 25 participants and require advance registration via Eventbrite. Parking is limited and the format is interactive, with participants encouraged to engage with the environment and ask questions.

Tour Schedule:
* * June 27, 2–4 p.m. (Tickets available June 13 at noon)
* * July 16, 3–5 p.m. (Tickets available July 2 at noon)
* * Aug. 12, 3–5 p.m. (Tickets available July 29 at noon)
* * Sept. 26, 2–4 p.m. (Tickets available Sept. 12 at noon)
