Move over yoga pants, a local portrait photographer is bringing glamour back to Newport.
Studio Newport is a makeover studio that incorporates makeup, hair, and styling to create contemporary, magazine-style portraits for clients.
“It’s a fun, transformative experience,” said studio owner Olga Enger. “Everyone should be photographed professionally. Do it your family, your business, future generations and for yourself.”
A stylized portrait with your child, mother and/or grandmother is art that will be treasured for generations, she added. “It will priceless someday.”
“I encourage families to create ancestry walls,” said the photographer. “After my grandmother died two years ago, I was grateful to have the photos of her. It’s fun to see her as a young woman in old photographs, but I decided to hang her most recent portraits on my wall.”
The studio owner recommends women celebrate milestone birthdays with a portrait session.
“Women should be celebrating their age, not lying about it.”
In addition to generational sessions and individual glamour portraits, the studio offers corporate
branding headshots, champagne parties and boudoir sessions.
“The days of bank headshots are behind us,” she said. “Professionals are looking for contemporary
corporate branding portraits for websites, blogs and social media.
The experience can boost confidence and be life- changing, she added.
“Initially, many women tell me they are not photogenic, or say they need to lose 20 pounds,” Enger said. “But when I show them before and after albums, they get it. My promise to my clients is that I will take the best photograph they have ever seen of themselves.”
Women may choose to make a day of it.
“The champagne party is the ultimate girls day out,” said Enger. “Women get pampered with hair
and makeup and clothes. It’s an amazing experience to share with your family, best friends
or bridal party,” said Enger.
“Just make sure to book a night out in Newport after your session, because you will look and feel
amazing,” she said, smiling.
