President Donald J. Trump announced Saturday that President Donald J. Trump announced Saturday that the United States carried out airstrikes on three nuclear facilities in Iran, sharply intensifying the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. The strikes, which targeted sites in Fordow, Natanz and Esfahan, mark the first direct American military involvement since hostilities erupted between Israel and Iran more than a week ago.

“We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran,” Mr. Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social. “All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow.”

He added that “all planes are safely on their way home,” and extended congratulations to the U.S. military, calling them “our great American Warriors.” Mr. Trump concluded his post with a call for peace: “There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE!”

The announcement came on the ninth day of sustained exchanges between Israel and Iran. Israeli officials have said their bombing campaign is intended to degrade Tehran’s nuclear infrastructure and deter further aggression.

The White House said Mr. Trump will address the nation at 10 p.m. Eastern Time on Saturday to discuss the operation.

Leave it to @newport.mansions CEO Trudy Coxe to de Leave it to @newport.mansions CEO Trudy Coxe to deliver the longest stretch of sunlight with “A Floral Fair.” The 30th edition of the Newport Flower Show opened on June 20 at Rosecliff in sun-drenched, high botanical style.

Attendees were treated to a parade of fairy-tale splendor: Fabergé eggs, Rapunzel’s golden tresses intertwined with blossoms, and Frog Princes lounging on lily pads were among the whimsical horticultural entries enchanting guests upon arrival. @sayleslivingstondesign crafted a spectacular vignette of merriment in the ballroom, while prize-winning roses from local gardeners like @privatenewport’s Bettie Pardee, Pamela Granberry, and Felicidad Zeballos were displayed on the terrace.

Guests were treated to a surprise dash of Palm Beach glamour as @suebelle Robbins, the effortlessly chic queen of social media style, made a radiant appearance, turning the Rosecliff lawn into her personal runway.

The Children’s Art Installation featured saplings of American Elm and White Oak in pots painted by members of the @bgcnewportri and students at @stmichaelscountryday. The @newporttreeconservancy presented cultivated, propagated, and grafted trees grown from Newport’s urban forest.

Decadent gardens created by @whitmoresinc’s Landscape were punctuated by exquisitely crafted sculptures by @davidharbersculptures. His ego-less works are designed to interact with their environment and enhance any garden where they are placed. As the sun set, the gold-gilded interiors of Harber’s delicate latticework began to sparkle.

No Newport gathering is complete without a little indulgence. Chris Bender and Nicole Canning served a course of caviar at the @stoneacrepicnicsandevents tent. Ladies shopped for chapeaus at @thehatshopnyc, summer dresses at @ala_von_auersperg’s Ava booth, and home accents at @megbraffdesigns. A few savvy shoppers were already thinking of fall as they perused the boots on display from @dubarry.usa of Ireland.

It was a floral fair, yes—but also a fête, a fantasy, and, as always, a very Newport affair.

Gracing nearly 3 acres along Barrington’s covete Gracing nearly 3 acres along Barrington’s coveted Nayatt Point, 69 Nayatt Road is a waterfront estate of rare distinction. With sweeping views of Narragansett Bay and a rich architectural pedigree, this residence captures the elegance and ease of Rhode Island coastal living. Designed by George W.W. Brewster for Henry S. Chafee, the home sits on the site of a former Victorian house, using the original foundation.

Featured in Architectural Digest, the property offers 4,852 sq. ft. of refined living across a single-level layout that unfolds in dramatic fashion. A central marble-floored gallery connects the home’s core—an expansive entry hall, sunlit living room, and formal dining area—divided by dual fireplace walls and anchored by panoramic bay views. French doors open to twin stone terraces that stretch toward the shoreline, with the Nayatt Point Lighthouse rising in the distance.

One wing of the home gently follows the natural slope of the land, housing the serene primary suite, a bonus room, and a spacious double guest room. The main suite is a true retreat, complete with a private sitting room, skylit sunroom, and direct terrace access—all with the bay as your backdrop.

On the opposite wing, the chef’s kitchen features professional-grade appliances, teak countertops, and a water-facing breakfast nook. The adjoining family room showcases a massive stone fireplace and oversized French doors that open to the lawn, creating seamless indoor-outdoor flow.

Adding to the estate’s charm is the original carriage house—with a first-floor garage and a second-floor apartment. Whether for guests, work, or creative pursuits, it offers flexible living with historic appeal.

Set just down the road from the Rhode Island Country Club and minutes from Barrington Marina, the town center, dining, and the East Bay bike path, this is one of the state’s most remarkable coastal offerings—where architectural legacy meets everyday livability.
