Well it was only a matter of time. A 61 year-old man was attacked by a great white shark today off of Cape Cod.
The Truro Harbormaster says the man was bitten at Long Nook Beach. The 61 year-old has been airlifted to Tufts Medical Center with “deep puncture wounds” to the hip and torso area and suffered serious injuries according to authorities.
There have been dozens of confirmed great white shark sightings off Cape Cod this summer.
The last shark attack on Cape Cod was in Touro in July 2012 off of Ballston Beach.
