Newport City Councilor At-Large John Florez has announced that he will no longer be a candidate for reelection.
In an exclusive statement released Friday morning to Newport Buzz, Florez said, “Serving my community has been an unbelievably enriching experience. However, after giving it careful consideration the challenges of running a growing technology company and family are simply too demanding. As of today I’ve decided that I will no longer be a candidate for the Newport City Council. Many of you have been so supportive of my many initiatives and for this I am humbled and eternally filled with gratitude. thank you each of you for all of your love and support and allowing me to serve this great city.”
