Click here to see the 2017 map. Here’s a new addition worth noting:

NEW SHADE AREAS: In addition to the shade provided by tents at the Quad, Harbor and Late July Family stages we have created two areas where small shade structures will be allowed for those with small children and others who need to get out of the sun. Personal structures such as strollers, low beach cabanas or beach chairs with shade roofs may be placed as space permits in these designated shade areas only. No pop-up tents will be allowed.

Please visit our INFO page to get all the latest updates so you are prepared to have the best experience on site possible. From what to bring to what not to bring, we lay out everything you need to know.

Whether you’re biking, driving or taking a ferry, please give yourself plenty of time when arriving and leaving the Fort.

NEW ENTRANCE SECURITY: However you get to the festival, allow extra time for traffic and for getting through the entrance gates. Metal detection, wanding and bag search take time. Please be patient and know that your safety is our first priority. Re-entry wristbands will no longer be issued prior to gates open. Once inside, if you wish to leave and re-enter the festival, you will need to stop at the re-entry tent and get a wristband. Continuous wanding and bag search will be in place at all festival gates throughout the day.

NEW BIKE VALET PARKING AREA: To improve traffic flow during entrance and exit hours bike parking has been moved to a new location. Follow the Spindrift signs into Fort Adams to the new bike lot. It will be on your left as you enter the Lower Parking Lot. Tune-ups and valet parking will be available thanks to our friends at Spindriftand Bike NewportPLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR OWN BIKE LIGHT FOR THE RIDE HOME.

NEW DIRECT FERRY TO & FROM PROVIDENCE: Seastreak is adding a ferry stop at Fort Adams State Park on festival days! The 9:30 AM boat will get you to Fort Adams at approximately 10:40 AM. Pick up time is 7:30 PM. There is currently round trip space available but it’s going fast. You must purchase seats in advance through Seastreak while supplies last. Skip the traffic and ride the high seas from Providence to Newport Folk.

We couldn’t do what we do without the support of our partners. They underwrite much needed resources to help insure you’ll have what you need for a great festival experience.

LATE JULY FAMILY TENT: We’re happy to have Late July Snacksback for the seventh year running! The Late July Snack Family Tent hopes to inspire the next generation of folk fans by creating an atmosphere where all ages can have a great festival experience! In a shaded retreat near the shore, join them for performances on the Family Stage (featuring surprise musical guests) and enjoy FREE crafts, snacks & other fun surprises all weekend long! This tent is a great place for families to take a little break, relax together and let the wonderful music, delicious snacks and ocean breeze transport them to a moment in time when life is pure, simple and good.

SPINDRIFT GREEN TEAM: We’re happy to have Spindrift back at the Fort to help underwrite greening initiatives at this year’s Festival. Be sure to thank all the Green team volunteers as they help you valet your bikes and sort your garbage. And be sure to enjoy some Spindrift while you’re at the Fort. Stop by the Spindrift stations for samples. #realfruittastesbetter

YETI COOLERS: Our friends at YETI are underwriting all the cooler needs of the festival – from keeping the ice cold at our first aid station to keeping our parking attendants hydrated. YETI will also be taking over one of the casemates in the back of the quad. Stop by and get a custom patch for your YETI cooler, or sign up for a chance to record in the Third Man Recording Booth. Something NEW this year: The Participation Row social action village will be in the Quad, brought to you by Clean Energy Advocates and our old friends HeadCount. Stop by and take action with some of our favorite non-profit organizations and you’ll get a chance to win a signed guitar. See you there!

Stop by our 2017 Official Merch Tent to pick up hats, tees, tanks, hoodies, koozies and more. We’re super excited to announce that this year’s official tee and poster were designed by Shepard Fairey’s Studio Number One. Be sure to get there early!

Stop by the beer garden in the Quad or head out to the beer pier for a cold IPA or Pils from the good folks at Lagunitas Brewing Company. Or sip and savor the local flavor. Try a handcrafted brew from Newport Storm, Rhode Island’s Microbrewery! The Storm crew is excited to feature two of their locally brewed beers at this year’s festival. They will be showcasing their Flagship Hurricane Amber Ale, a great session brew with the perfect balance of malt and hop flavor, and the Summer Hefeweizen, a crisp citrus brew perfect for those hot summer days!

The name ‘High Brew’ comes from our partner’s relentless commitment to a higher standard in coffee, while bringing a better cold brew experience to the masses (and to Newport!).

Stop by the High Brew Coffee tent near the Museum to fuel up for your day or to refuel for the night ahead with a refreshing taste of their naturally caffeinated cold brew coffee. Thirsty for more? Full cans are available for purchase at both coffee concessions tents!

Be sure to stop by the new Newport Festivals Foundation tent to learn all about our mission to foster the legacy and expand the impact of our festivals through educational initiatives that celebrate innovation, while preserving the deep traditions inherent in jazz and folk music. Stop by to learn more.
