newportFILM raises a record $210,000 at their 10th Annual Summer Benefit

newportFILM celebrated its’ 10th Anniversary at their annual Summer Benefit on 9th Saturday, August 3 at the IYRS School of Technology and Trades in Newport, RI. 

A record of over $210,000 was raised to support newportFILM’s mission of creating special evenings around documentary film and inspiring community dialogue. This event is the year-round documentary film festival’s biggest fundraising effort of the year. 

The evening’s wines were provided by Newport Wine Cellar & Gourmet, beers by Newport Craft and Whalers, and specialty cocktails provided by Seaport Shines. Passed hors d’oeuvres were enjoyed by the 300 guests while mingling in support of documentary film. 

newportFILM’s year-round programming for all ages focuses on topics relating to environmental health, social justice, culture, and education. Over the last ten years, the non-profit has screened over 250 films at memorable indoor and outdoor venues across Aquidneck Island, becoming a beloved part of the cultural fabric and vibrancy of Rhode Island’s arts community.
