Audrain Automobile Museum to temporarily close gallery

A Note from Audrain Automobile Museum:

“As all of us work through the ways in which we move forward in the challenging environment of this global health crisis, we at the Audrain Automobile Museum have come to the difficult decision to temporarily close our gallery beginning Saturday, March 21st..

We will review and evaluate our position on a bi-weekly basis based on available health guidelines and regulations.

Our choice does not come lightly- while we were grateful that our actions in the past week to go further than asked by the Governor’s Executive Order of March 16th allowed us to continue to welcome limited numbers of visitor guests to the Museum, we feel that in the interest of both public health and solidarity with our community that we will take this step.

The opening of our next scheduled exhibition, “Shining Bright- Advances in Automotive Lighting”, will be rescheduled from its current planned opening of April 25th until we are certain of when we will re-open the gallery.

However, we remain committed to fulfilling our mission to “Share, Preserve & Celebrate Automotive History” and to that end will be producing  videos highlighting vehicles in our current exhibition “From the Past to the Future- Power & Speed with Style” in order to give you and the public at large a chance to visit with us even when you are not able to join us in person.

They will be posted on the Audrain Automobile Museum YouTube channel. Please subscribe to see new videos on the collection and some highlights of “Shining Bright” as they follow in the weeks to come.

Any museum, including the Audrain Automobile Museum, does not hold the central place that a hospital does, especially in these times. But we are grateful to work in providing a measure of education, entertainment, emotional uplift and joy for all who are fortunate enough to visit us.

We wish you all the best as we move towards the day we can once again welcome you in the Museum, at one of our Cars & Coffee gatherings or any of the other exciting events we have planned for our members, visitor guests, friends and our community. We must look forward to the end of the crisis and to what will hopefully be an even more connected human experience.”
