Every day of Winterfest (Feb 12-21), Hotel Viking’s courtyard will feature an Ice Bar and fire pits. Cool cocktails and warm toes are a perfect Winterfest activity.
2 – Free screening of “Ratatouille” at Hotel Viking (Friday 7pm)
3 – Live music with Zan Ricky at Hotel Viking’s One Bellevue (Friday 7 – 11pm)
4 – Live Reggae show with Roots Reaction at Tavern On Broadway (Friday 10pm)
Saturday
5 – Ice Sculpting Competition on Long Wharf Mall. (Saturday 11am – 2:30pm)
Ice sculptors wield their chisels, chain saws, blow dryers and power sanders as they create masterpieces. Don’t miss these spectacular works of ice! The ice sculptures will be on display until they melt.
6 – The 21st Annual Chili Cook-Off at Hyatt Regency Newport, 1 Goat Island. (Saturday 11am – 3:30pm)
Winter heats up as area restaurants and caterers compete to see who has the best chili in town! Bring your appetite, sharpen your taste buds, and join in the fun as you choose your favorite chili! Enjoy Sam Adams specials. Admission: $10/$7 w/ bracelet. Children (6-10) $3/$2 w/bracelet. Children under 5 Free!
7 – Dinner & A Movie (Toy Story) at Hotel Viking (Saturday 5:00pm – 7:00pm) Movie at 6pm
The whole family can come and enjoy a buffet dinner for $19 per person (save $5 with your WinterFest bracelet). Kids under 12 eat free. Toy Story starts at 6pm. Buzz & Woody will make an appearance from 5:15 – 6:15pm. Reservations recommended.
8 – 80’s Night at Norey’s Star Restaurant (Saturday 7pm)
Each and every Saturday night Norey’s plays all of your favorite 80’s music videos. Each week this ends up becoming absolute sing-along dance-a-thon.
9 – Live music with Travis Colby at Hotel Viking’s One Bellevue (Saturday 7 – 11pm)
10 – Queensboro Hustlers at Tavern On Broadway (Saturday – 10pm)
Come down for the funky punk and the jazzy blues… Don’t forget your dancing shoes.
Sunday
11 – Sunday Brunch
- Brunch at Tavern on Broadway (10am – 2pm) The price of your entree includes a bloody, a mimosa or the drink of your choice!!!
12 – Valentine’s Day: Wine Tasting and Painting at Greenvale Vineyards (Sunday 4:30pm – 6:30pm)
Grab your favorite sweetheart for a fun afternoon of wine tasting and painting. Get your creative juices flowing by enjoying a sample of Greenvale Vineyards’ seven (7) estate wines! Mermaid Masterpieces will then take you step by step to create a work of art directly on to a wine bottle! Feel free to pack snacks, as wine will be available to purchase as you paint. $50 per person includes wine tasting and all art supplies and instruction!
13 – Cathy Vaughn-Smith Valentine’s Day Sunday Funday – (Sunday 5pm)
Well, Cathy and Tim have had an eventful 2015 so we want to come together to show them some love on Valentine’s Day. We are taking it “old school”. Booze Brothers will be providing entertainment and we are trying to get more details as we get organized.
We are having a $10 donation at the door, that includes a Team Cathy t-shirt. While supplies last. There will be a 50/50 raffle and some silent auction items. Bring your wallets and a great sense of humor!
