“Ocean Lawn”, the Newport, R.I. estate that housed the Firestone family for decades, is on the market for $18.5 million.
The 16,200 square foot, 24-room home, sits on 6.7 acres of prime ocean front property on Newport’s Cliff Walk.
The Queen Anne-style mansion was originally built around 1889 by Peabody and Stearns.
The house has his-and-hers libraries. “His” library is paneled in oak.
“Her” library is paneled in pine.
When Mrs. Firestone passed away in 1990, the property sat on the market and sold for $1.6 million in 1996. It was again sold for $6.6 million in 2000.
