Biden announces he’s moving up deadline for all U.S. adults to be eligible for Covid vaccine to April 19

President Joe Biden announced Tuesday that he is moving up his deadline for states to make all American adults eligible for a coronavirus vaccine by almost two weeks. Every adult in America will now be eligible to be vaccinated by April 19th.

“My Administration is working to get America vaccinated as quickly as possible,” Biden said. “By April 19, every adult will be eligible to be vaccinated.”

A few weeks ago, Biden called on states, tribes and territories to make all U.S. adults eligible for vaccination no later than May 1st.

The president also announced that America has crossed 150 million shots in just 75 days into his administration.

“I’m proud to share that yesterday, we crossed 150 million shots in just 75 days of my Administration — on our way to hitting our goal of 200 million shots by my 100th day in office,” Biden said.

Every state has now given at least one dose to 25% or more of its population with 19 percent of Americans fully vaccinated.
