Unfortunately, Australia’s strict pet import rules require months of quarantine, making it nearly impossible to bring Bailey along. Originally rescued from Sofie’s Place in Arkansas, Bailey is spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. She’s healthy, weighs 47 pounds, and has a calm, loving temperament. She’s lived with kids, gets along well with other dogs, and would thrive in a caring, stable home. Bailey is currently in Fairfield, Connecticut, but meetups can be arranged. Interested? A group of Westport firefighter/paramedics capped A group of Westport firefighter/paramedics capped off a busy 24-hour shift with a heartwarming rescue Thursday morning, saving 10 ducklings trapped in a sewer drain near the water — proving they’ve got just as much heart as heroics. Westport Fire Department’s Group 2 personnel responded to 13 calls for service during their shift, handling a range of emergencies throughout the day and night. Their final call brought them to the shoreline, where concerned bystanders had spotted ducklings stuck in a storm drain. Working carefully to access the drain, the crew was able to retrieve all 10 ducklings safely. The birds were soon reunited with their mother nearby. The department shared the uplifting moment as a bright end to a demanding shift, highlighting the firefighters’ dedication to serving the community.
