Aquidneck Island National Police Parade set for Sunday, May 6th.

The 2018 Aquidneck Island National Police Parade will take place on Sunday, May 6th.

The parade begins at noon on in front of Hampton Inn & Suites in Middletown and continues to Washington Square in Newport.

“The Law Enforcement Community will recognize 133 Officers Killed in the Line of Duty during 2017.  For the second year in a row, the greatest loss of Officers in the Line of Duty was by gunfire.  As we look back on the year past, we recognize that violence continues to grow at an astonishing rate.  It is this somber reminder that has us join as a community to remember the fallen each May on Aquidneck Island and to work to overcome these hard facts.”
