Fun Newport Festivals And Events To Get Excited About This Fall

Just because the summer’s over doesn’t mean the fun ends here in Newport, RI! Take a look at our top picks for the fall season.

Newport Mansions Wine and Food FestivalSeptember 22nd – 25th

The party of the season. From elegant dinners featuring extraordinary wines, to food tastings, demonstrations, and celebrity guests, it is a great event for foodies, wine connoisseurs, or those of us who just like to dress up for a great party.

Norman Bird Sanctuary Harvest Fair – October 1st & 2nd (10am – 5pm)

An autumn ritual for generations of families, this beloved old-fashioned fair offers something for everyone. The “Mabel Express” Barrel Train, Monkey Bridge, Mud Pit, Midway games and Children’s crafts tent invites kids of all ages to join in the fun. Talented crafters and artisans sell their beautifully created items, enticing fairgoers to get a jump on holiday shopping. Local food and beer vendors offer an array of appetizing selections, while an impressive line-up of musicians round out the festive atmosphere.

Rogue Island Comedy Fest – October 6th – 9th (8pm & 10pm)

Four days of nonstop laughs. Hosted by Doug Key of the smash hit “The Wasted Talent Show”, the Rogue Island Comedy Festival is going to be insane. At least 7-8 comedians on all 8 shows! We highly recommend checking out more than just one! Comics from Comedy Central’s Half Hour specials, America’s Got Talent, Inside Amy Schumer, Adam Devine’s House Party, Conan, TruTV, MTV, Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, and more!

Newport Marathon – October 9th (7:30am)

The only marathon and half-marathon in Newport, the course is simply astounding: winding ocean-side roads, miles of waterfront views and sweeping vistas of the grand mansions along Bellevue Avenue.

Columbus Day Parade – October 10th (noon)

The parade kicks off from St. Joseph’s Church (after 11am mass) on Broadway and ends at the Christopher Columbus Monument on Memorial Blvd.

Bowen’s Wharf 26th Annual Seafood Festival – October 15th & 16th (11am – 5pm)

Named one of the “10 Fabulous Fall Festivals on the Coast,” by Coastal Living Magazine, this event is an open invitation to come back to the waterfront after the rush of the summer season!

Pell Bridge Run – October 23th (7:15am)

The Citizens Bank Pell Bridge Run is a 4 mile run/walk produced by the Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority. This event is not-for-profit and 100% of proceeds will go to support local not-for-profits.

Halloween CarnEVIL at Newport Vineyards – October 28th (7 – 11pm)

Come one, come all to Newport Vineyards Halloween CarnEvil! The regions’s premier costume party with an evening full of sideshow, circus performing, tarot card reading craziness. Ticket includes Creepy Cocktail Hour with nosh food, (1) drink, tarot card readings and circus performers. Live music from THE SILKS and cash bar to follow. PRIZES for best costume!

First Annual Harvest Festival at Newport Vineyards – October 29th (noon – 5pm)

Sip, savor and toast to the seasons’ crush at our First Annual Harvest Festival! A day full of grape stomping, pie eating, wine tasting goodness. Enjoy live music from the Little Compton Band, while sipping cocktails crafted by Willa from Little Bitte Artisanal Cocktails and noshing on food from our culinary team and local vendors.

Taste Of Newport – October 30th (5pm – 8pm)

A Celebration of Community, Collaboration, and Taste in support of Child & Family.  The 33rd annual Taste of Newport provides an elevated culinary experience and collaboration of Newport County’s finest restaurants and their award winning chefs. Returning to its original home at the Hotel Viking, guests will have a choice of two distinct dining experiences while celebrating community, collaboration and taste.

Newport Restaurant Week – November 4th – 13th

Three-course prix fixe: Lunch $16 and Dinner $35. Tantalize your taste buds at Newport & Bristol Restaurant Week! Diners will enjoy three course prix fixe meals at exceptional values…lunch for $16 and dinner for $35. Beverages, gratuities and taxes are not included.

The Newport Nutcracker at Rosecliff – November 25 – 27 & November 29 – December 2
