Fort Adams Seeks Volunteers To Help With Annual Halloween Fortress Of Nightmares

Fortress of Nightmares, Newport’s Premiere Haunted Halloween Attraction is seeking volunteers to help setting up and working their annual Tunnels of Terror, Haunted Officers Quarters Exhibit, Zombie Hunter Challenge and Kids Fun House

They are currently seeking:

Scare Team
The Scare Team arrives at Fort Adams by 5pm each night and prepares their own costumes and make-up. Scare Team volunteers will be positioned throughout the fort in costume and will be responsible to provide the scares to our customers. Many volunteers team up and work together to create an incredible scare. Training is provided at Orientation, otherwise, just a fun and creative demeanor is required. Direction is provided nightly by the Scare Team Manager.

Operations Team
Operations is responsible for the nightly checklists and ensuring the event runs smoothly. You’ll utilize our maps and two-way radios to confirm the fort is ready to open each night. As an Ops Team member, you’ll be expected to arrive at 5pm and complete a simple checklist as you walk around the fort. Any issues/problems should be brought up to the Operations Manager. Direction and walk-throughs are provided nightly by the Operations Manager.

Security Team
Security Team members must be over the age of 21, and have a pleasant, people-friendly demeanor. You’ll be working directly with customers each night to ensure they have a safe, positive experience. Security team members work together when needed to de-escalate an unsafe situation. All incidents should be reported directly to the security manager, who will be on-site nightly and provide direction at 5pm prior to opening for the night.

Construction Team
Construction dates are posted on the Fortress website, and volunteers are needed to help build the haunted maze in the daylight. Construction skills are appreciated, though not required. September 5, 12, 19, 26, October 3, 10. 11am until 3pm, lunch and drinks provided. Please wear your best construction clothes, and sturdy footwear.
